Final Progress Update (for now)

Hello! I hope the title of this devlog doesn't scare you too much. What I'd like to talk about right now is the future of Jim's Basical Tutor Class, because I am currently unsure if I wanna push myself to finish this game faster than I need to, and I'm DEFINITELY unsure if I wanna continue making this game in the Unity Engine.

The first factor as to why I've been struggling time and time again with making significant progress is due to my poor mental health, which came as a result of poor self-discipline. I'm trying to work that out now, so that this doesn't become an issue if I ever switch the game to Godot. As far as poor mental health goes though? I'd rather not provide too many details.

The second unwanted factor is the new Unity policy that will take effect starting 2024. While this doesn't affect me (because my game isn't going to be monetized), I no longer trust that I can continue developing any future games in the Unity Engine. Because of this, I'm putting the project on hold. I may still continue to finish the game in the Unity Engine, but any future games will be made with Godot. I've tried out Godot just yesterday and it felt amazing to use! In theory I should just be able to port the game flawlessly to Godot seeing as I haven't made that much big progress, but I've paid for assets to use in the game so in the meantime I'll just stick to Unity unless I for whatever reason decide I want to switch engines.

IF I decide to switch, I'll make sure I do it before I make any big progress.

Anyway, I just wanted to update you all on why I haven't been super focused on providing consistent updates to the game, hope you understand!

Edit:
The Runtime Policy has been tweaked! So a bit of trust was gained back. But I still would like to pause on gamedev stuff for quite a while. I'll need this time for additional planning.
