Information about the project in its current state (May undergo a possible reboot due to bugs and glitches)

Bad News

As you all know (or should hopefully know) Unity corrupted my project, this means I can no longer persist to develop using my old project. BUT! I can start from scratch.

Good News

Starting from scratch gives me loads of availability that I couldn't have with the old project. I couldn't add new things right away due to how I managed the project almost 5 months ago. There comes a lot of perks with rebooting, here are some examples of what I might do IF I ever decide to reboot. I can release a functional challenge demo with almost all of my characters in it. I can fix my code to work as I intended it to from the start (My character codes are very buggy but it could change upon rebooting). I could potentially code the entire game from the ground up. Maybe I could throw in randomly generated levels. Of course it will mean that the project could take longer. But if I do pass on the Random Levels idea I will make increasingly difficult levels this means (Increasing notebooks counts, stranger characters, crazier events, and thousands of wander areas (Not really, but there will be more than the original). Even if I reboot it I will need help getting back on track. With everything going smooth I can add even more characters faster than I used to.

Information on the Challenge

Yes, I will still release the challenge update on friday of this week. I'm not rebooting the project just yet. (However if I cannot get help that is what I will resort to.. yeah rebooting the project). The challenge will involve you having to be quiet with every move you make. Using WD-NoSquee to navigate your way through the level. But with a twist, you are blinded as well. There is only WD-NoSquee present in the level as well as a few other side items to help you through the challenge. (If I ever reboot the project I'll be sure to make challenges more difficult than ever)

Possibility of restoring the project

I believe that maybe I could restore the project to it's former glory along with better cleaned up maps. But it's going to require help. You might not have known this but I had help from JohnsterSpaceProgram (who appeared in the credits) at the very beginning of development, That got me through step 1. Finding a starting point. (This is when I came about revamping the original school slightly) I got all the way to step 2 on my own. (Reaching a quarter of finishing development) however I never did reach the half mark due to corruptions in the project. Maybe if I do perhaps get help with fixing obvious bugs with my code, The project won't have to get rebooted. If I don't get help on the reboot, the person (Who helped previously) will not appear in the credits (In game) after the reboot starts development (however a chance to redeem your place in the credits (In game) will be available you just have to contribute to some things in the project upon rebooting) Being in game is better than being out of the game.

If the project reboots are posters from the submission form passed to the reboot?

Yes! You all can still have your old submissions in the reboot. You will also be in the credits if I reboot the project.

When do you plan to start rebooting the project?

Hopefully never, but if it comes to that due to reoccurring bugs. I will resort to rebooting the project. It will exceed more quickly with new features too if it reboots! So, lets hope that the bugs are fixable. So it doesn't have to come to the point of a reboot.

What will be in the reboot? (If there is one)

I plan on adding much more features to the reboot, if I have to reboot the project. For instance, I will start by adding my characters to a test map, Tweaking up their code, Running more tests, etc. But, along with my old cast of characters, will come new faces much more quickly hopefully. Basically I want to perfect any of the mishaps that occurred when I started developing this mod. (I plan on making that random hall way placer a thing in the reboot when I do make it)

Now, I know what you are thinking. You probably aren't going to want to help me fix this project as it is because you want to see the new stuff, right? I understand that fully. If that is the case, Bug Test Builds for the reboot will come once a month along with major content updates. (If that is too frequent, I will wait until I find it stable enough to release a version of it, so this means there will be no excessive beta updates. Much rather limited demos if you will)

For the time being though, I don't plan on rebooting it for the next two weeks. If I manage to fix the major bugs, There will be no reboot. (there still will be one regardless right after the main game has been released, hopefully the reboot is much more stable)

Demos?

Demos will come separately from the main product, this means I will disable any main menus until I release a good full demo with all of the features you'd wanna see. The reboot isn't going to be priced, however any of my future games will be priced (preferably around  5-10 US Dollars or anything else for that matter)

About the project

Other than the obvious bugs, I'd say the project is pretty fine. But not great, it still needs work done to it. I like my work and progress but I'm not proud of it. Hopefully when it releases I can feel proud. I'm just losing confidence slowly but surely. Updates will come but not as frequent as they used to! I still havent gotten around to finishing level 6, I've mainly been building away at the challenge map. Hopefully that builds up my confidence to finish Level 6 and start working on fixing more bugs. (Because since I was working on it alone pretty much, there will always be bugs in a project I'm in control of.)

Also If you are thinking about me not adding more characters to the game eventually you don't need to worry, they will come eventually. As well as me going in and patching the code to function as intended. around V2.1 I will heavily search for more bugs and patch them as I please. Even if the bugs made fun things happen.

If all goes well I won't need to reboot it until the reboot time arrives. (That is when this main project is finished)

I hope you all have a wonderful day/night. Depending on where you live. Also don't forget the chalk dust kid, you'll be able to get revenge on him some day.
